about

Lentboys was Freddie Cox, Robert Dyer and Hayden Carter, originally based in Staffordshire, UK. After a stunted start to music in the early 1990s and various interpersonal issues in the band, they solidified their love of rock and gained traction with their progressive post-hair-pop-pseudoglam blend, specifically attracting attention in eastern europe. Carter's confident hesitance with vocals provided a latch for those with a primary language other than english.
During a tour in Moldovia, a Tiraspol based record label invited the band to record an album, which was subsequently completed in a rapid round of heady inspiration. As congratulatory partying ensued, the band were communally cooking celebratory mititei (local sausages) and a fire broke out. In addition to damaging most of the master tapes for the album beyond repair, the band members and several record label executives were injured and had to have reconstructive surgery for the burns caused by the accident.
After years of being put off music due to associations with the accident and retreating back to menial work, Dyer's grandson egged the band on to dig out the mere four tracks that were salvageable from the damaged master tapes.
